The Challenge
With waffle and wafer cutting processes, it is crucial to prevent lost yield through broken product. As a result of prior successes in these applications, Parker leveraged its industry knowledge to increase throughput and reduce lost product due to breakage. The results are over 43,000 double strokes per day for the electric cylinders that perform the cutting of the wafer.

The Solution
Parker leveraged its prior knowledge of this market segment application and was able to provide a complete electric linear actuator with a positive pressure purge port and special sealing design as well as the high efficiency MPP servo motors and easy to program IEC61131 compliant Compax3 Servo drive/controller. The programmable motion profile and custom process design eliminated the product breakage and increased plant profitability.
