Flexible Displacement Sensor

Parker’s SensoNODE™ Flexible Displacement Sensors are soft, thin, conformable devices that can take accurate measurements and readings while being strained over 100% for millions of cycles. The sensors are made of a tough silicon rubber and can withstand the harshest environments from heat, cold, and shock to dust, vibration and moisture.

The SensoNODE™ Flexible Displacement Sensor integrates with Parker’s SCOUT™ software or direct wired interfaces. This allows users to connect their SensoNODE sensors to their mobile devices to receive diagnostic information. SCOUT software compiles the data and presents it in a way that makes sense to the user’s operation, allowing them to track data in real-time and also review historic trends.

Why SensoNODE Flexible Displacement Sensor?

  • Soft and comfortable
  • Rapid response
  • High accuracy, high precision
  • Ultra-high strain (up to 100%)

MARKET APPLICATIONS

This flexible displacement sensor opens up a brand new range of measurement capabilities for numerous potential applications:

Medical
The soft, conformable nature of the SensoNODE Flexible Displacement Sensors make them well-suited for a number of medical applications, such as health care, assisted living, and elder care. Their accurate, precise motion capture capabilities make them ideal for:

  • Physical rehabilitation
  • Monitoring vital factors
  • Gauging motion
  • Furniture

Wearables
The SensoNODE Flexible Displacement Sensor’s ultra-stretch and light-weight characteristics make it a perfect fit for wearables. The sensor can be placed in apparel substrates to measure performance and fitness levels while being comfortable and non-intrusive to athletes or gamers. The sensor can also be placed around body joints due to its high degree of stretch.

  • Sports
  • Training
  • Gaming

Industrial
SensoNODE Flexible Displacement Sensors can be used to measure strain or vibration in machines, vehicles, production lines, plants, and facilities. They are ideal for monitoring elastomer and other high-strain devices that are subject to overload or fatigue failure, such as air and fluid handling. Other applications can include:

  • Elastomer joints and seals
  • Conveyer systems
  • Linear actuators
  • Hydraulic accumulators
  • Mechanical effectors
  • Pneumatic cylinders
