Team Parker Brammo
Parker has sponsored Brammo in the eSuperStock category of the all-electric FIM eRoadRacing motorcycle series. AMA Pro Racer Shelina Moreda is riding the Brammo Empulse TTX for Team Parker Brammo. The Empulse TTX is a race-modified version of the Empulse R production bike from Brammo.
Parker provides the water cooled motor for this motorcycle. It is the first production electric motorcycle to feature a water cooled motor. Parker and Brammo will be racing this season for the first time in the eSuperStock class, which allows only production motorcycles to compete.
This year Shelina Moreda will be racing on the Team Parker Brammo Empulse TTX against other Empulse TTX bikes and entries from other electric motorcycle manufacturers. This eSuperStock class is one that allows motorcycle enthusiasts to go out and buy a bike and begin racing without requiring a huge budget. Team Parker Brammo is racing along side gas powered bikes in the AFM race series in California, marking the first time in AFM history that all-electrics are racing against gas bikes.
About Shelina
Shelina Moreda, #93 is a privateer motorcycle roadracer and one of only a few females racing at the AMA National level. She was raised on a dairy in Petaluma, Ca. She has been on quads since she was three years old, growing up on a ranch, riding was a necessity to bring in the cows. She got her first dirtbike when she was 12, and was hooked. From sometime around there, it became a dream of hers to race professionally. Her need for speed runs in the blood. Her dad raced flat track and cars and he still races dirtbikes. "I really look up to my parents, and I blame my love of racing on my dad!" Shelina says.
She started racing six years ago with full intent to become a professional motorcycle racer. She put herself on the fast track to accomplish her goal, and obtained her novice racing license on her very first trackday. By the end of her novice year, Shelina had achieved 3rd place overall in the AFM's Formula AFemme Championship against Expert racers, she was consistently top 5 in the men's Clubman class, and won Top Novice on several occasions.
In May of 2010, she obtained her Professional Roadracing License and competed in her first AMA Pro SuperSport Roadrace at Infineon Raceway. Shelina recalls "For me, it was a dream come true, a dream that I intend to follow to it's fullest".
In 2011 Shelina climbed the ranks in the West Coast AMA Pro Supersport class. In July she was the first female to race an electric bike at the international level with FIM ePower. She rode for the Italian team CRP Racing at Laguna Seca during the MotoGP weekend. She was also asked to ride a Vance & Hines Harley in the XR1200 class at Indy in August of 2011. She made history when she became the first female to race a motorcycle at the Brickyard in the 100 year history of the track. She was also the first female to race in the AMA XR1200 class.
"I am working really hard on and off the track in order to make my sponsors proud; without them, none of this would be possible. I owe a big thanks to Parker, Brammo, Spyke's Harley Davidson, ESP Racing, AXO, GoPro, Dunlop, Domino S.P.A, Supermoto USA, Arai, G & B Motorsports, Impact Safe-T Armor, Keigwins, and OnTrack4Him.com. I'd also like to thank Prairie City Flat Track, Brok McAllister and Pucho Bagnis, and Colin Edwards Texas Tornado Bootcamp for all their work training me in their dirt track schools." Shelina says of her sponsors that they all help make each season a hit.
