Used Oil Analysis | Cylinder Oil Monitoring

Looking after your oil is an essential part of any machinery maintenance. The lubricating oil is often the only thing separating the metal surfaces of your engine, journal, hoists or compressors, and so without it they could not function effectively. Oil analysis should therefore be a priority to any maintenance staff or engineer in order to ensure that all machinery is able to run as smoothly as possible. Advanced oil analysis equipment solutions are also incredibly valuable for ensuring the continued health of heavy machinery. Not only will this improve machinery efficiency, but it also serves to reduce downtime. This can have a dramatic effect on output and costs, especially when combined with wear debris analysis and other condition monitoring methods. Parker offers solutions for On-Board Cylinder Monitoring, Sensors, Used Oil Analysis Kits and Used Oil Analysis Labs.

The ATR uses the science of Attenuated Total Reflectance (IR Spectroscopy) in a bench top device and removes the anomaly of crew inaccuracies during re-agent mixing, or sample size. It revolutionizes on board testing eliminating the use of reagents, chemical mixing or accurate sample sizes.
ATR Analyser from Parker Condition Monitoring
This unique test determines the non-metallic iron content of used scrapdown oil. Used with a metallic meter such as the Ferrous Wear Meterplus, it provides the ultimate understanding of the wear mechanisms within the engine, allowing corrective action to be taken to mitigate ongoing damage.
Cold Corrosion Test Kit
The DIGI Field Kit from Parker comes complete with tests for Water in Oil, Total Base Number, Total Acid Number, Insolubles and Viscosity Comparison. This kit provides the ability to test on-site, resulting in convenient routine oil analysis.
DIGI Tests from Parker
This unit brings PPM wear metal analysis to on-board vessels. Simple, with no tedious sample prep, it detects iron contamination, reporting directly in industry standard PPM values. Suitable for industrial applications and for use on marine two stroke scavenge oil samples for feed rate optimisation.
Ferrous Wear Meterplus from Parker
The FCS (Fluid Condition Sensor) is a multi-parameter sensor and alert system for monitoring oil quality, moisture, temperature and pressure. By tracking changes in oil electrical conductivity, FCS can detect fuel dilution - a common problem in 4-stroke diesel engines.
Fluid Condition Sensor from Parker Kittiwake
Parker designed LinerSCAN to remove the uncertainty of cylinder liner damage resulting from low fuel quality, slow steaming, low sulphur levels, lower oil feed rates and cylinder oil formulation changes.
Early warning against engine damage
Parker’s latest generation of metallic wear debris sensors provides unbeatable detection performance for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is known in the market that particles result from wear processes in hydraulic and lubrication systems.
Metallic Wear Debris Sensor from Parker
Detects total ferrous particle contamination irrespective of particle size with an amazing sensitivity of <1 micron Fe. Excellent for detecting abrasive wear particles. Hundreds of these sensors are in use at sea on scrapedown oil from two stroke marine engines in feed rate optimization programs.

Bunker Fuel Testing | Fuel Condition Monitoring

Marine fuel deliveries are measured by volume but paid for by mass. Ensuring the fuel quality at the time of delivery and calculating the density is an integral part of good bunkering practices. Parker's condition monitoring solutions help companies measure density and water content to calculate the mass of fuel delivered. Our on-site fuel labs can help ensure fuel is within the required specification under ISO 8217, Viscosity, Density, Water, CCAI, Compatibility, Pour Point, Salt. They can also help maintain bunker fuel samples for Port State Inspection under MARPOL 73/78 Annex VI.

The ability to spot check the Sulphur content of fuel on-board (to lab standards) within three minutes will help vessel operators, bunker suppliers, port authorities and regulatory surveyors ensure compliance with the latest IMO MARPOL fuel regulations.

Make fast on-site maintenance decisions with the Heated Viscometer, providing laboratory grade oil condition results in minutes.
Heated Viscometer from Parker Condition Monitoring
The Density Meter provides an on-site fuel analysis lab to help protect assets, improve productivity and increase up-time. Measuring the density of fuel using hydrometers, the Density Meter can be used to confirm the quantity and grade of fuel delivered.
Suitable for distillate and residual fuel oils
Parker's Compatibility Tester is possibly the most useful tool available for testing fuel oil compatibility and blends. The kit provides a quick tool for engineers faced with the necessity to mix or blend residual fuel oil or wishing to establish the stability of a new bunker delivery.
Parker Kittiwake Compatibility Tester
In just 15 minutes, the simple onboard Cat Fines Test Kit identifies the presence of abrasive silicon and aluminium cat fines helping to prevent irreparable damage to fuel pumps, injectors, piston rings and liners.

Wear Metals | Machinery Health Check

All machinery will wear with use. Contact and fatigue will produce a continuous stream of microscopic metallic particles. Parker Condition Monitoring offers highly accurate, rugged on- and off-line magnetometers that report on both the concentration, size, rate and composition of wear generation providing immediate indications of increased wear rates or impending failure.

The MHC Bearing Checker is a unique hand-held instrument, providing maintenance engineers with an easy to operate, simple to use and quick method of analyzing bearing condition and lubrication state.
Monitors high frequency Acoustic Emissions
MHC Memo Pro monitors high frequency Acoustic Emissions (AE) signals naturally generated by deterioration in rotating machinery. The MHC-Memo Pro is able to monitor a near unlimited number of machines on a periodic basis.
MHC-Memo Pro for Condition Monitoring Specialists
Parker's industry leading on-line sensors provide plant engineers and maintenance managers with real time, continuously monitored testing and wear debris analysis data for critical plant and equipment.
On-line Sensors from Parker Condition Monitoring
Parker offers sensitive, yet rugged magnetometers for on-site field and laboratory use. These sensors ca immediately identify ferrous contamination without physical contact with the sample. Additional equipment is available for preparation of ferrographic slides for in depth investigation.
